Islamabad:
Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister (DPM/FM) Senator Ishaq Dar on Thursday was chairman of a meeting of the Committee for the upcoming Overseas Pakistani conference scheduled for April.
At its meeting, the Committee discussed improvement services and support mechanisms to overseas Pakistanis, with the most important stakeholders discussing strategic initiatives to streamline commitment and facilitating their contribution to national progress, a DPM’s office said.
Deputy Prime Minister instructed that selected proposals should be completed, confirming Pakistan’s priority to strengthen financial, trade and investment ties with friendly countries.
DPM was chairman of the 4th interministerial meeting, on investment project proposals with friendly countries.
During the meeting, the Committee reviewed BRIEFS on potential investments in key sectors, including infrastructure, oil, trade and information technology (IT), says a DPM Office news announcement.
DPM also repeated the government’s unshakable focus on improving strategic partnerships and promoting the cross -sector’s cooperation.
SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Federal Secretaries for Foreign Affairs, Oil, IT and Economic Affairs, Chairman NHA, especially Secretary Finance & Petroleum and senior officials from SIFC, MOFA, communication and other departments attended the meeting.
