Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has criticized India’s recent diplomatic acts and called them “unusual” and “inappropriate” and assured that a firm, coordinated response will follow.

In a speech with a private news channel on Wednesday, Dar said India has not presented any evidence connecting Pakistan to the recent terrorist incidents and seems to be reacting out of anger.

“India has not provided any evidence of the terrorist events. Its messages reflect a lack of seriousness,” he said.

He added that India’s approach to accusing Pakistan of its internal problems is not new. “India casts the blame on Pakistan when it faced a crisis,” he said.

DAR confirmed that a National Security Committee (NSC) meeting has been called for Thursday to formulate Pakistan’s official response. “India’s statements are inappropriate and NSC will issue a comprehensive answer,” he noted.

He also criticized India’s recent diplomatic movements as rushed and emotionally driven: “It is not appropriate to vent anger over terrorism in this way.”

The comments come in the midst of escalating tension after India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and deportation orders issued to Pakistani citizens.
