- Daredevil: Born again have already given great fan theories about two of its characters
- Some Disney+ viewers think they’ve worked out that playing mouse in the Marvel TV show
- Others believe that Section 1’s Soul Deserting Twist is a False Out
The Devil’s work is never done – and after Daredevil: Born again‘s first two episodes fell on Disney+, the same goes for fan theorists.
Yes, the debut of a new Marvel TV show is upon us, and some viewers have first thrown themselves in the rabbit hole theory of territory after Born again‘s two -part premiere. The reason? Part of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) fanbase has come up with theories of a few of its characters – and although they think Outlandish on the surface, I think there is some substance for both hypotheses.
Full spoilers immediately follow for Born again‘s first two chaptersSo make sure you’ve seen them (and read my spoiler-filled Daredevil: Born again Review) first before proceeding.
Is Franklin ‘Foggy’ Nelson really dead in Daredevil: Born again?
It is something of an irony that for a show with a variation on the word ‘birth’ in its title appears a main character death in Section 1’s first 15 minutes. You know that the person who dies is Franklin ‘Foggy’ Nelson, alias Matt Murdock’s closest friend and co-lawyer because you’ve seen one of the best Disney+ Shows’ two-episode premiere. And read this section’s headline above.
But I get off-track. Yes, Nelson is murdered by Benjamin ‘Dex’ Pointdexter, alias Bullseye, in Born again‘S first episode, entitled’ Heaven’s Half Hour ‘. It’s a heartbreaking moment for Matt and Karen Page (the latter is another closely familiar by Matt and Foggy’s), and for those of us who saw Netflix’s own Daredevil Live-Action series that ran for three seasons between 2015 and 2019.
Although we testify to ‘fog’ dead, some viewers, however, are not entirely convinced that he is mixed by his deadly coil. In fact, there are fans who actually think he still liver and as crazy as this theory sounds, there is some cold hard proofs to back up it.
First, ‘Foggy’ ‘is dead’ once in the comics. His notorious ‘Departure’ occurs in Ed Brubaker era, who saw ‘Foggy’ killed in Daredevil Vol. 2 #82. Five questions later, however, it is revealed that Nelson’s death was falsified by the authorities so that he could be placed in a witness protection program.
There is no reason why a similar scenario could not play out in Born again. In his Netflix ancestors, ‘Foggy’ repeatedly tries to get Murdock to give up his life as a vigilance because a) he cannot continue to see his best friend maintain life-threatening injuries and b) if anyone learns from Daredevil’s true identity, it will put his loved ones (including ‘fog’) in real danger. It is then possible that ‘foggy’ falsified his own death to force Murdock’s hand and cause him to retreat from crime games.

“But Bullseye killed him!”, I hear you cry. “And we saw ‘Foggy’ die!”, Some of you can add too – and I agree. To that, however, I have an answer: What if the ‘fog’ that dies is actually a scroll?
I know I know the very mention of ‘Skrulls’ is enough to beat fear into the heart of all MCU fans. These form -changing foreigners have not been exactly used well in MCU Secret invasion…), but wouldn’t it another great reversal of events if the ‘fog’ that died is actually a scroll, and the real ‘fog’ celebrated his death to get Murdock to turn his back against his superhero alias? How would Murdock respond if he found out that ‘foggy’ was not only alive and good but also lied to him and Karen?
Okay, that’s a long shot. First, Skrulls quickly returns to their normal form when killed, so we would know if ‘Foggy’ death was a fake out right away. Nevertheless, threads at Marvel Studios and Marvel Studios Spoilers Reddit sides are full of fans who suggest that ‘foggy’ may not be as dead as we think.
With Born again Producer Sana Amanat (per GamesRadar+) and Marvel’s leader of TV Brad Winderbaum (per phase hero podcast), which suggests that Elden Henson, the actor, who plays ‘Foggy’, returns in Season 2, there is every chance that this fan theory could also turn out to be true. Personally, I think Henson will only return to flashback sequences, but hello, I have been wrong before.
Is Buck Cashman the man behind the mouse mask in Daredevil: Born again?
One of the greatest mysteries around Born again‘s plot is who plays muse. A serial killer that creates grotesque works of art using the body parts of its victims is Muse one of the most sadistic members of Daredevil’s Rogues Gallery and based on Daredevil: Born again‘s first trailer, it seems that he will either be the primary or secondary antagonist in the first season of the series.
From episodes 1 and 2, however, we still do not know which actor will make MUSE in his live-action debut. Actually he is the only character in my Daredevil: Born again Cast guide that does not have an actor attached to his article entry.
So who can tackle the role in Born again On Disney+, alias one of the world’s best streaming services? Muse does not appear in the two-episode premiere, so we still don’t know. However, it has not prevented fans from speculating in his identity in the real world-and some say that Buck Cashman (played by Arty Froushan) will be revealed to be a muse later in season 1.

Like the ‘fog’ fan theory, it seems to be proof that fans are on the right track. Cashman comes over like a bit of slimeball when he appears. He does not hide exactly how creepy he is when he participates in a book signing for therapist (and Murdock’s new love interest) Heather Glenn’s new self -help book.
Of course, he is more likely to be present at the said book launch event because he is under instructions from Wilson Fisk, also known as the new mayor of New York City. Fish wants to keep an eye on his Arches in Murdock, so it makes sense that he would get the green members of his team to haul anyone that Murdock is close to. Hi, fish is no longer the terrifying crime ruler known as Kingpin, but he can still use extortion of the PlayBook to his advantage.
That said, I think Cashman is not a muse. In fact, there is another person at the event who gets her copy signed and asks Glenn if she takes on new clients because he is struggling with his mental health, which seems to be a better fit for MUSE.
I’m not the only one who thinks so too. The same Reddit threads that I linked to earlier are also filled with people commenting on the prospect of this character that appears to be played by Wednesday Star Hunter Doohan, Moonlight as Muse. We see who is right as Season 1 of this Marvel Phase 5 project is progressing. Meanwhile you can check out more of my Daredevil: Born again and wider Marvel cover below.
