Islamabad:
The government extended the deadline for submission of expressions of interest (EOIS) to the purchase of National Flag Carrier, Pia, by two weeks, the Ministry of Privatization said Tuesday.
The Ministry gave no reason to the extension of the deadline from June 3 to June 19. Nor did it reveal whether any EOI had been submitted for the sale of a 51 to 100% share in the airlines.
The previous attempt to privatize the debt -ridden airline failed last year when a single bid was received well below the requested price of more than $ 300 million.
In April, the airline reported its first annual profit of more than two decades
