The momentum behind a potential spring check between two divisions in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team in April has come to a screaming stop.
Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders has recently beaten common practice between Buffaloes and Syracuse, which led up to the exhibition games.
“Having it competitive to play against your own guys becoming monotonous,” Sanders said during a news conference last week. “You really can’t tell the level of your guys because it’s the same old, same old – everyone kindly know each other.”

Syracuse coach Fran Brown eventually accepted the challenge of Sanders, but approval of the renunciation of NCAA’s FBS Investigator Committee was needed for the possible game to move forward.
On Friday, the committee eventually decided to deny exception for a joint review. The decision comes in the midst of a tendency for college football programs across the country that weigh the importance of traditional spring games.

Some of the coaches who chose to cancel their respective spring games quoted the risk of injuries to the players. Others expressed concern about potential transfer defects.
The amount of lane left for a potential review seemed to be one of NCAA’s adhesive. The spring practice plan has already been mapped for an overwhelming number of schools. Therefore, Colorado had a limited number of possible opponents.

A review could also provide a recruitment advantage for two participating schools, an opportunity for other programs would not necessarily have.
Despite the climate name, image and equality (zero), NCAA also expressed academic concerns.

Nebraska recently revealed plans to replace its traditional intra-squad scrimmage with skills competitions and 7-to-7 games at the end of April.
In a note obtained by Athletic, the committee does not completely close the door on future investigations as there are plans to tackle the topic in the future. “The committee agreed to discuss a concept that could allow common practice in a future meeting,” the memo said.
In recent days, other coaches have joined Sanders’ support for spring skills. Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy suggested a matchup with Oklahoma, while Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire said he was for a common practice with teams in the region.
Colorado’s Spring Game is scheduled for April 19 in Boulder.
