It turns out that Deion Sanders will be satisfied, regardless of which team choosing his son Shedeur Sanders in next month’s NFL draft.
The Colorado football coach previously suggested that he would advise his son to avoid playing for certain NFL teams. But during a recent conversation, Sanders managed his attitude.
“Honestly, shedes have told me he has spoken to me intensely about all the visits he has had with all the teams,” Deion said during a performance at “The Skip Bayless Show.”
“So I know where his heart is. I know where he wants to go. If it’s New York, it’s New York. If it’s Tennessee, if it’s Cleveland, if it’s still Raiders, if it’s New Orleans, if any of these teams are looking for a quarterback, I’m glad I know what he wants to do for the organization,”

Sanders was later asked if he would try to “orchestrate” where the shedur went in the 2025 NFL draft.

“No, because it’s not God’s will right now. I want shedur to do what he has consistently done – excels against all odds. I like to hate. I like naysaying. I like the ignorance because it makes us feel better about what we do. It gives him another chip on his shoulder.”

Deion previously declared “It will be an Eli” when explaining how sheds and reigning Heisman Trophy -winner Travis Hunter would handle the draft. Sanders’ comment was also a NIKK for former quarterback Eli Manning’s notorious NFL draft of 2004.

Manning was expected to be the top election in that year’s draft class, and chargers had # 1 choice. But the franchise got a reputation that a destination young quarterbacks should avoid.
Manning’s agent allegedly informed the chargers that his client would sit out throughout the season if the team drafted him. Manning’s family was reportedly involved and Quarterback was drafted and traded to New York Giants.
Shedeur is expected to land somewhere in the first round. The 2025 NFL draft begins on Thursday, April 24.
