Love is strong… but tour plans? Brutal.
Demi Lovato and husband Jordan Lutes (aka Jutes) are about to reach a relationship milestone — their first wedding anniversary — and unfortunately, they’ll be celebrating it miles apart.
Jutes, who is gearing up for his European tour in May and North American runs in August, admitted the timing couldn’t be worse.
“It’s one of those things where we get sad when we talk about it,” he shared. “So we think, ‘We don’t want to think about it yet.’ It will be hard, there is no way around it.”
Romantic? Yes. Ideal? Not even close.
Still, he doesn’t let the distance win. “We’ll just pretend,” he joked. “As soon as the tour is over and we’re together, we’re going to celebrate and it’s going to be great. It’s part of the job and we’re just going to FaceTime a lot and figure it out. We’ll get through it.”
Between shows, Jutes is riding high on his new single Disconnect and is preparing what he calls his “biggest” tour to date – funded mainly by fans.
“People who come to the show are by far the most important thing to me,” he said. “Nothing is going to replace showing up and having a bunch of fans there singing your songs.”
And Demi? Still his biggest fan.
“She believes in me more than I believe in myself,” he said. “We love watching each other win – watching her win makes me feel better than watching myself win.”
As for rumors of marriage being “hard”? Jutes isn’t buying it: “Should we pretend to fight or something?”
