Lahore:

Pakistan has continued its airspace extinguishing for Indian Airlines and Cargo Services for the 22nd consecutive day, Saturday Sources said in the wake of rising tensions following the Pahagam incident and wider India-Pakistan hosties.

The prohibition introduced almost three weeks ago has resulted in significant operational and economic setbacks for Indian carriers. Aviation Insiders estimate the losses to India to over RS5 billion due to redirection costs, longer airplane and suspended shipping operations.

Indian Passenger Airlines, including long -distance teachers driving aircraft to Europe, the United States, Canada and other Western destinations, are among the most affected.

“Flights must now take significantly longer routes and add between 2.5 to 3 hours to their total travel time,” said a senior aviation employee.

The cargo sector has also been hit, with shipping services to and from India, which is facing delays and higher fuel and logistical costs due to the ongoing restrictions.
