Ragnow posted on social media that he has tried to convince himself that he is well enough to play, but he said he is not.
“I’ve given this team everything I have and I thought I had more to give, but the reality is that I simply don’t,” said Ragnow, who was drafted 20. By Lions in 2018, in an Instagram post. “I have to listen to my body and this has been one of the hardest decisions of my life.”
“The last few months have been very tried as I realize that my football trip is ending and that I officially retire from the NFL,” Ragnow continued. “The Lions organization has been absolutely incredible throughout this process, and I can’t emphasize this enough how grateful I am for this team and all fans. It was an absolute honor that fought for you all.”
