- Salesforce claims that 96% of developers are excited for AIS positive influence
- Agentic AI Democratizing access to coding, reporting claims
- Bad data quality is still a big barrier
Salesforce, a company that dives first in the world of artificial intelligence and Agent AI, has new research suggesting that almost all (96%) developers from a global study are excited about the influence of technology on their careers.
More than nine out of 10 (92%) specifically emphasized how AI agents could help them move on in their jobs, where AI is now seen as important as traditional software tools of four-fifths of UK and Ireland developers.
In a blog post, the company wrote: “The arrival of Agentic AI gives developers the opportunity to focus less on tasks such as writing code and debugging and growing into more strategic work with great influence.”
Developers feel positive for AI
While many early concerns about artificial intelligence that threaten human workers are still vocalized, it is clear that AI is set to revolutionize programming for the better by democratizing access to more powerful tools, improving efficiency and making careers in the sector more accessible to more workers – which helps to join the current skills GAP.
Some common use cases for AI include code generation, where developers can spend more time editing and fine -pumping items in the code than writing it and optimizing existing code.
“By automating boring tasks such as data cleaning, integration and basic testing, free developers AI agents to shift their focus from manual coding to problem solving, architecture and strategic decision-making with high value,” noted Alice Steinglass, EVP and GM to platform, integration and automation on Salesforce.
Now, about four out of five developers using AI agents are already using low and non-coding tools (78% in the UK, 79% in Ireland), with just as many who believe that low and non-code tools have the power to democratize AI development (80% in the UK, 78% in Ireland).
Other commonly expected improvements include application development speed and efficiency, increased quality, creativity and problem solving.
Programmers are now calling on their organizations to upgrade their infrastructure to support AI agents, but there are some overly well-known obstacles first to overcome. More than two out of five (47% in the UK, 42% in Ireland) says poor data quality is a barrier to AI implementation.
