Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson has announced that he is leaving Blizzard Entertainment after five years.
In a post that was shared on X / Twitter, Fegusson said he “steps away” from the company after working on Diablo Franchise for five years and released four matches, though he did not indicate where he is on his way next time.
“After five years of driving Diablo Franchise forward with four big launches, it’s time for me to go away from Blizzard/Microsoft, sword in hand, and see what’s next, “Fegusson said.
“The teams are ready for success with an exciting slate of releases ahead. I am incredibly proud of what we have built together and look forward to what comes next to DiabloAnd for me. “

Blizzard -President Johanna Faries also commented on the message and said, “Guidance of a franchise like Diablo Rarely takes talent, vision and collaboration. Thank you, mess, for bringing all of them to Spar. The future of Sanctuary is brighter because of the influence you have had! “
Xbox manager Phil Spencer also had some words for Fergusson’s departure and said on Bluesky, “You brought strength, hell and vision to one of gaming’s most iconic franchises. The game Diablo IV With you was an explosion – thank you for everything you gave to the game and the community. “
Fergusson is also known for his time as a head at the coalition where he worked on each Gear of War The game across his time at both Microsoft and Epic Games since the franchise started in 2006.

Blizzard has since confirmed the news of Fergussion’s departure to IGN, but did not offer further comments or reason why. There is also no word about who is taking over as the leader of Diablo franchise at this time.
