The New York Mets’ latest program list movements raised eyebrows on Monday prior to their series against the National League East Rival Atlanta Braves.
Mets announced that they had chosen Outfielder Travis Jankowski to bring the big league list, selected Kande Tyler Zuber and Infielder Luisangel Acuña to Triple-A and transferred Outfielder Jose Siri to the 60-day wounded list. But one step in particular stuck out – the signing of Kande Dicky Lovelady for a major league contract.

Lovelady was activated for the team’s match against Braves, and baseball fans responded to social media. MLB.com reported that Lovelady, whose first name is Richard, Bad Fans, Employees and Teammates to call him Dicky.
Lovelady, 29, was a 10th round election out of the Kennesaw State of Kansas City Royals in 2016. He debuted for Royals in 2019. He did not appear in Majors in 2022, but showed up with Oakland -Atletics in 2023.

Lovelady broke up for Chicago Cubs and Tampa Bay Rays in 2024 and was with Toronto Blue Jay’s for two performances earlier this season.
In 110 career games, Lovelady has a 5.26 era with 93 strikes.
Mets came in Monday night with a record of 46-32 and a game behind Philadelphia Phillies to NL East Lead. Braves sat 11 matches behind Phillies.

New York has treated a number of damage to the arms this season. Starters Tylor Megill and Kodai Senga treated both injuries earlier this month, as did Reliever Max Kranick, and landed on the wounded list.
