US President Donald Trump weighed in on American Eagle’s controversial ad with Sydney Sweeney during a press briefing.
“Oh, now I love her ad,” added that he finds the campaign “Fantastic,” said the president, thanking the reporter who informed him that the actress was actually registered as a republic.
The president said he would never have known that she was otherwise a republican

Although Sydney Sweeney is officially a registered Republican in Florida, her public silence over politics and her handling of recent criticism has raised questions about her political affiliation.

Still, she has not made any political endorsements, campaign performance or issuing statements.
Nor is it known whether she supported or voted for Donald Trump during the November 2024 presidential election.

The US Eagle ad in question triggered hard debate about his word game about “Genes.”
Critics claimed that pairing the phrase “Sydney Sweeney has big genes” with the actor’s blonde hair and blue eyes caused troubled racing connotations.
The campaign ended with her crossing “genes” and replacing it with “jeans”, a step that inflamed conversations about Western beauty standards.
