- Resignation Director Ben Stiller has delivered a promising update in season 3
- Stiller says a writer’s space is assembled and manuscript work is already in progress
- Apple has not officially confirmed that a third season of its hit series is under development
Ben Stiller has confirmed that the work with Resignation Season 3 is already underway, despite the fact that Apple has not officially renewed its biggest TV original.
As part of a profile piece in a recent edition of Hollywood Reporter (THR) revealed Stiller that although a message has not been published, Season 3 was in the early stages of development. Stiller who serves as Resignation‘s Main Director and one of its many executive producers says that a writer’s space has been gathered and that progress is being made on next season’s manuscripts.
Confirmation of it Resignation Season 3 is under development will not come as a big surprise to fans of the Apple TV Plus series. Sci-Fi Mystery-thriller was already one of Tech Giant’s greatest original shows after its critically acclaimed first season. However, ever since Resignation Season 2 was released on January 17, its popularity is skyrocketed as more and more people have set themselves to take their ‘new strange’ history, be captivated by its compelling and complex role crew of characters and offer their own theories of what that is going on. It seems to be inevitable that a third season will be announced before rather than later.
It’s unclear if Resignation‘s third chapter will be its last. When he speaks to Techradar before one of the best Apple TV Plus Shows’ return, creator Dan Erickson said he already knows how many seasons it will take to tell Resignation‘s whole story. He has an idea of what its last scene will be, for what it is worth. In view of how successful Resignation Has been, I would be very surprised if its to-advertisement-advertisement third installment is the show’s last post, especially when it has been such a money spinner for Apple TV Plus. That said, if it only takes three seasons to wrap Mark Scout and the company’s various travel, maybe it will be after all.
Will there be a three-year space between Severance Seasons 2 and 3?
I hope not! And it sounds like Stiller is in the same boat. Per Rebecca Keegan, the author of Thr’s article, said Stiller he wanted to have Resignation Season 3 to launch on one of the world’s best streaming services much faster than January 2028. It would officially mark the three -year period between the debut in Season 2 and Season 3.

There were several reasons why it took so long for Resignation Season 2 to see the light of day – pandemic and 2023 Hollywood strikes are the two biggest factors for its delayed release. As long as there are no similar major problems during Season 3’s development cycle, Season 3 should be with us before we bid farewell to 2027.
