- Discord is suffering from violation

Disagreement has warned users that it suffered a cyber attack that caused a potentially disturbing data violation.
In a message message about violation sent on the company’s blog, Discord said a third party who provided customer support services was broken.
“The unauthorized party then gained access to information from a limited number of users who had contacted Discord through our customer support and/or trust and security team,” Discord said.
Payment data secure
The identity of the attacker was not revealed but Bleeping computer reports that this was a ransomware attack and that the threat actors required payment in exchange for the stolen files.
They managed to get people’s names, disagree usernames, e emails and other contact information that customers gave discord customer support. In addition, limited billing information (the last four digits of credit card, purchase history) and IP addresses also gained access to, and it was also exchanged messages with customer service agents.
The hackers also took limited company data (training material, internal presentations) and a “small number of” government-issued ID cards.
“If your ID may have become accessed, it will be specified in the e email you receive,” Discord added to the message, noting that the violation happened on September 20, 2025
Payment data must be fine as the company said full credit card numbers as well as CVV codes did not have access to. Announcements or other disagreements – in addition to what was shared with customer support – was also left intact. Passwords and other approval data were also not compromised.
“We are in the process of contacting affected users. If you were affected, you will receive an e email from [email protected],” the company concluded. “We will not contact you about this incident by phone -Official Discord Communications -Canals are limited to E -Mails from [email protected].”
An internal study was already launched and a third -party forensic expert engaged. Police have also been notified.
