Developer Dark Math Games has revealed that the audio track for its upcoming sci-fi detective RPG XXX Nightshift Will be helped by the Grammy Award -Nominated songwriter and music producer John Cunningham.
The game that was first revealed at the end of last year is something of a spiritual successor to Disco Elysium and created by a team of 20 developers – of which half worked on Disco Elysium and Disco Elysium: the final cut. Seen in a futuristic ski resort, the game promises to deliver “Deep single-player role-playing” with choices that dramatically form how the story takes place.
The game from an isometric perspective, it certainly looks like Disco Elysium – Although you can boast of a unique companion mechanic who allows you to move forward in your study either solo or with the business depending on your decisions.
Cunningham is known for his collaboration with artists, including Miley Cyrus, Kanye West and deceased XXXTentacion. He will work closely with the development team to lead the creation of music and sound to the game.
With regard to the partnership, Dark Math Games founder and XXX Nightshift Art Director said “John’s innovative approach matches our energy perfectly.
“He knows how to get the best out of every artist, and we are happy to have him as a practical partner with the development team,” he continued. “He takes the lead on sound and music with his signature style – players are in for something unforgettable.”
Cunningham said he is “super curious and excited to be part of XXX Nightshift“
He added that “the world has evolved so much and our understanding of music and personalization has evolved with it. How is music created, listened to, shared and loved in this world? And most importantly, how can I convey the feeling of the player that we are all artists in our own right?”
The study has also confirmed that pre-orders for the game, which is currently only scheduled for a PC release, will open tomorrow, March 8 through its official site. Those who pre-order it will receive an exclusive 34-page digital cartoon. You can get an early glimpse of the cartoon cover below.
