Someone sells nearly two billion inconsistent messages and other data, allegedly scraped from the platform, experts have warned.

The data, probably scraped from the platform, includes 1.8 billion discord messages, 35 million users, 207 million voting sessions and 6,000 discord servers and can be obtained for a fee.
A spy.pet copycat?
Discord is a communication platform that lets people chat via text, voice or video, often on servers organized around society, games or interests. It is popular for games, social groups and professional communities, and many servers on the platform are public, which means anyone can participate in and read the content, including chat messages, member names and more.
This also means that much of the data sold by miscreans could be public. While the content is technically visible, it still violates a lot that is still massaging and using it for commercial purposes or collection of personal data can run into privacy such as GDPR or CCPA.
Whether the data is public can only be determined with a detailed analysis that no one has done at the time of the press. In any case, Discord is likely to shut it down, similar to how it closes a previous service that tried the same thing, called spy.
At the end of April 2024, a site that offered billions of discord chat logging files for sale was taken offline by the chat appendator. Disagreement accounts associated with the service were banned and the company confirmed that the service violated its tos:
“Scratching our services and self -botting are violations of our Terms of Service and Guidelines for Society,” the company’s spokesman said in a statement at the time. “In addition to banning the associated accounts, we are considering appropriate litigation.”
