Frozen 2 were released in 2019. Year after this is underway on the work on the third installment.
Jared Bush, CCO from Walt Disney Animation Studios, said at the 2025 Annecy Animation Festival, “Some of it is under packaging but what I want to share with you is right now, the work done on Frozen 3 is specifically phenomenal.”
He continued, “When people see it, I think to return to that world with these characters, the entertainment value of watching them go on a new journey, but it feels very organic to the story they have already been on is great.”
Jared also reflected on the pressure to reach the quality line for each project in the study.
“For me personally, I think it is critical to make sure every movie we do is great. We have the luxury of being able to watch on movies many times.”
“So when we look at Frozen 3 as ‘Can we tell the very best story we can with it, and don’t worry about where to split in the next story,’ is kind of important. One thing at a time is for me the best way to approach it,” he added.
It is expected that Frozen 3 will be out in 2027.
