- Images of the DJI Avata 360 have again leaked online
- This will be the first 360-degree drone from DJI
- It may have a single-lens mode for standard shooting
A new leak of the DJI Avata 360 has appeared online β this will be DJI’s first 360-degree camera drone, expected in the very near future β and it points to an advantage the flying machine may have over its Antigravity A1 rival from Insta360.
Courtesy of seasoned tipster @Quadro_News, the leak shows a few unofficial images of the DJI Avata 360 (see below), along with a selection of accessories. For example, we can see the standard DJI RC controller.
There’s an image of the DJI RC showing live footage from the drone, suggesting it will come with a single-lens mode. In other words, you’ll only be able to use one of the lenses to shoot standard, non-360-degree photos and videos.
This trick apparently comes thanks to a rotating camera unit. Upward- and downward-facing lenses will record 360-degree videos, and it looks like the device itself will rotate 90 degrees to flip one of those front-facing lenses for single-lens video.
That’s something the Antigravity A1 doesn’t have β its lenses are fixed and it can only record in 360 degrees. If you’re trying to make a decision between these two drones, then it’s worth considering, although of course nothing has been confirmed about the DJI Avata 360 yet.
The fact that the Avata 360 is part of DJI’s FPV drone family may also mean that its flight speeds and aerial maneuvers trump those of the somewhat pedestrian Antigravity A1.

One of the two leaked images also shows a battery charging hub of the kind typically included in Fly More Combo packs, with three batteries loaded. We have previously heard about some of the bundles that may be available with this drone.
We’ve heard plenty of rumors surrounding the DJI Avata 360 to date, and it looks like it will be heavily based on the DJI Avata 2 that launched in April 2024. Considering how many leaks we’ve already seen, a launch of this drone can’t be far off now.
We expect to see 8K video recording capabilities with dual 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensors β presumably the same used by the DJI Osmo 360 action camera β and a battery boost over the predicted DJI Avata 2. Obstacle avoidance and a follow mode have also been tipped by those in the know.
In the background of all this, of course, there is the ban on new DJI products that has just come into effect in the US – so the DJI Avata 360 will not be available there. For the rest of us, it seems like the wait is almost over.
