Google Messages Users have shared their experiences in a series of Reddit posts (see below), detailed problems with slow app performance as they try to load attachments, and images and videos displayed blurred or not loaded at all.

Google has recognized the problems in a support post and said: “We know that many of you have experienced frustrating problems that receive media in messages, especially slowdowns and failures. We understand how disturbing this can be and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. “
Google says it addresses the problems of rolling out updates to improve the media performance of the message, adding that “Our team has been actively working on this and we have recently rolled up updates aimed at improving the media receiving performance. We hope you see a noticeable difference now. However, we also know that questions can be complex and we are obliged to get it right ”.

Google has not revealed exactly what it does to implement these changes, but according to The Verge, it could simply make backend server changes as users have not been obliged to install anything new.
Whatever resolves Google implementing, it seems that they have not yet reached all users, as some have reported improved media performance, others say they are still experiencing problems and Google has called on messages to continue to report any problems they are facing.
