- iOS 26.0.1 now rolls out for compatible devices
- It solves some connectivity options and camera rugs on the new iPhones
- iOS 18.7.1 is also looking for older handset
The big iOS 26 rolling out got started a few weeks ago and iOS 26.0.1 is already available. While not a huge update, it has some important bug fixes for different iPhone 17 and iPhone air models, so it is worth installing as soon as possible.
As reported by MacRumors, iOS mentions 26.0.1 -relief notes corrections to connectivity and photo errors on the new 2025 iPhones, as well as for blank appicons problems (when using a custom tint) and the voiceover feature.
We covered the intermittent Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues last week, causing users of iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air to lose active connections as they unlock their handsets. This then affected links to other devices such as CarPlay -Dashboards.
And we have also previously written about the photo errors, where certain types of LED lighting shining into the cameras on these new models – perhaps at a concert – might make white curls and black rectangles appear on the images. Apple acknowledged this problem, but said it was “very rare”.
Early problems
While it is not ideal to see bugs and errors that appear on a brand new smartphone, it is also not unexpected: Most new handsets are now delivered with at least one or two problems that are attached, regardless of the brand. For example, Google Pixel 10 owners have reported wireless charging problems with older chargers.
As frustrating as these bugs are, they seem to have only affected a minority of the new models, and Apple has at least been quick to get corrections rolled out. There is also a new iOS 18.7.1 update to older iPhones that doesn’t support iOS 26 (that’s something before the iPhone 11 basically).
It was a similar story last year, with some random reboot and touch screen problems, originally reported by owners of the iPhone 16 hand sets around the time the iOS 18 landed. As with this year, software corrections were quickly issued.
There are probably more bug fixes on the way in the coming weeks, and iOS 26.1 is already in beta test. However, these software upgrades cannot do anything for your iPhone if you see an excessive amount of scratches.
