- A number of new security features arrived with a UI 7
- Samsung recommends that users turn them on
- They help protect your data if someone swings your phone
Samsung is pretty proud of some of the anti-thi-the-the-the-the-the-time features it is recently rolled out with a UI 7 (based on Android 15), so much that the company has issued a press release that highly advises users to turn on these new features.
“Samsung encourages Galaxy users to activate the latest anti-the-the-the-the-the-the-the-way features now available on their devices,” reads the directive (via Android Authority). “These updates reflect Samsung’s obligation to deliver smarter, stronger protection help users protect their data and remain in control, even in high risk situations.”
There are five features mentioned, even if they are not all brand new. First up is theft Detection Lock that uses the sensors on your phone to detect when it may have been snapped and locks the screen automatically.
There are also offline device lock that locks the phone after it has been offline for a long period of time and remote lock – the possibility of users to lock a phone remotely from another device if lost or stolen.
Where to find these features
Samsung One UI 7 also offers identity control, which means that biometric approval is needed to change security settings and security delay: one hour of waiting time enforced if the biometric data is reset on a phone.
If you have taken your phone from you, that wait must give you time to remove it and take it and take the other steps needed before the person trying to reset it can have full access.
All of these features can be found and activated via the setting panel in a UI 7: TAP Security and Privacy> Lost Device ProtectionAnd you will find options to register your device at Find My Mobile Service (to lock it externally) and to control the other security features marked by Samsung.
It is also worth mentioning that this is not Samsung -Exclusives: You can find these features, such as theft -a -ceiling lock, on other phones running Google’s Android 15 -Software (including the best pixel phones).
