Tells the story of Outlander‘s predecessors, Outlander: blood of my blood Already looks like another smash hit for Starz’s time-traveling franchise. We are three episodes in the new Binge-worthy TV show that follows Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claires (Caitiona Balfe) parents as they travel back to the 18th century Scotland and become connected to each other in the process. Even if you look prequel and not followed the main show too closely you will be able to spot something satisfactory Outlander Easter eggs … and there are many of them.
Just before Section 3 was sent (which also streams on MGM+ For those in the UK and Stan in Australia) I caught Henry (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia (Hermione Corfield), better known as the younger versions of Claire’s parents. Unlike Jamie’s family, Julia and Henry fell in love during World War I, before being launched back in time, to the place where we meet them in prequel. However, they have been separated and find their way back to each other while talking about to rewrite the story in the process.
This rewrite of the story already takes so many twists that I don’t know if I’m coming or going. Spicy Outlanderheads (which I call the fans) wasted no time to devise theories of what might happen in future episodes, including whether we will see Claire unconsciously meet her parents. Irvine and Corfield have not only seen these theories, but they also hinted at me that some of them are on the right lines.
Outlander: Blood from my blood fan theories may be closer to the truth than we think
Look at
“I have it,” Corfield replies when I ask her if she has seen any fan theories. “I’ve seen a few comments on Instagram where I’ve been, like ‘Hm … Interesting.’ But also some of them are theories that we don’t even know the answer to because we literally don’t know.
Popular theories currently include meeting Claire’s parents in Outlander Season 8, wrapped filming in September 2024, when Julias Baby (Claire is already born) is someone we have already met in the main show, and Jamie’s father Brian (Jamie Roy) is closer to the couple than we have been led to believe.
Given that the role crew is filming season 2, we can exclude any theory that goes too far ahead (as in, ahead of the 18th century, but still behind wwi. Hold up!). They still don’t know how the second half of Season 2 plays out at all, but Irvine teased a shocking VRI during the first half of Season 2, which we probably haven’t guessed at all.
“When you see the characters at the end of season 1, where they then start Season 2, it’s crazy not what you would expect. I didn’t expect it at all. I was very confused when I went into my first costume -fitting and then the costumes and asked ‘what on earth is it that will be?’
“It’s heights and low and everything in between. A total roller coaster,” Corfield adds about what should come.
