“In accordance with prolonged baseball tradition, President Trump has invited the world champion in 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House as they play in Washington DC on April 7,” the team said. “Dodgers look forward to visiting the White House and celebrating our title.
“In addition, members of Dodgers will visit Capitol Hill on April 8.”
Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts called it a “great honor” to visit the White House after suggesting that he would not in a 2019 Los Angeles Times history.
“It was not a formal conversation that we had as a ball club,” he explained via ESPN. “It’s definitely a huge honor to get the invitation to the White House. It allows us to celebrate our championship in 2024. To my understanding, every world champion gets that honor, so it’s a great honor for all of us.”
Los Angeles is the latest team celebrating its title gain in the White House. Philadelphia Eagles and Ohio State Buckey’s football team have also committed to visiting Trump and the White House. Florida Panthers celebrated their Stanley Cup Ssey last month.
