- TeamViewer study finds that SMBs are already missing out on AI-driven productivity increases
- Most SMB leaders say they need more training
- But AI -Investments are rising everywhere
New research has revealed how much potential SMBs should come on board artificial intelligence to grow and stand out in a very competitive market.
A new TeamViewer survey found that more than one in four (28%) says rising operating costs from unanswered automation options are already taking a toll.
Almost half (47%) of the SMBs surveyed admitted that they lack the infrastructure needed to scale AI tools, and almost all (95%) say they still require more training.
SMBS needs AI to grow but they are still uncertain about it
Despite growing enthusiasm, the confidence to control AI is still bad, the study found
More than three-quarters (77%) of SMB leaders say they would not even bet a week’s salary on their organization’s ability to deal with the risks associated with AI, such as data abuse or unauthorized tool access. Yet, almost the same number (72%) considers itself somehow.
As it says, two out of three (65%) say that AI tools are only implemented in closely controlled environments, with three out of four (74%) feeling troubled over data control vulnerability. Although AI plays a role in increased risks, AI is not completely blamed – two out of five (38%) agree that a lack of training is their biggest obstacle.
“SMBs are clearly motivated to embrace AI, but many are still looking for the right way to transform early adoption into lasting impact,” explained TeamViewer director of product management Artus Rupalla.
The research also revealed that SMBs are a leader in terms of AI moving across their workforce – but it is not always translated to frequent or mature use. Larger companies are generally seen to use AI more often when it comes to daily and weekly measurements.
But despite the current restrictions, SMBs are investing in AI to drive future growth. Three out of four are planning to increase AI investments in the next 6-12 months, with 72% predicting greater productivity increase and 76% to believe that AI is important to improve overall business performance.
