Elon Musk’s Brainchild Government Agency, Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), reportedly planning a ‘hackathon’ to build a “mega API” for access to IRS data in a larger streamlining.
According to CableThe goal is to centralize IRS data to a single-cloud-hosting platform that can become “read the center of all IRS systems” and unnamed sources cited by Cable has already named a potential partner.
“Palantir … has been brought up consistently by DODE -Representatives as a possible candidate,” Cablesays sources.
Musk wants to make an IRS “MEGA API”
Palantir Technologies, which currently has a market capital of $ 173.5 billion, in particular counts Peter Thiel among his co-founders-a-known employee of Musk.

On March 20, 2025, Trump signed an executive order to banish information silos for the purpose of “stopping waste, fraud and abuse.” The order seemed to focus on the IRS and declared an interest in “eliminating bureaucratic duplication and inefficiency while the government’s ability to detect overpayments and fraud.”
The White House has not yet shared any plans for the rumored Hackathon.
