Dolly Parton tries desperately to sound optimistic.
However, insiders revealed that the country legend is struggling deeply following the death of her husband Carl Dean.
According to RadarOnline.comfollowing Dean’s passing in March of this year, Parton has thrown herself into work, which is beginning to take a toll on her health.
“Dolly just won’t stop and she’s barely breathed since Carl died,” an insider confided.
“Just a few days after he died, she showed up at Dollywood to celebrate the park’s 40th anniversary, and she’s been that way ever since.”
The source went on to say that Parton’s nonstop work ethic may be her way of coping.
“She hasn’t broken a single commitment – at least not until she got sick,” they added.
Her friends are reportedly worried that the 79-year-old singer’s grief is catching up with her.
“She’s trying to stay strong, but everyone can tell she’s exhausted. Working around the clock doesn’t cure her pain — it masks it,” the insider explained before moving on to a new topic.
