Dolly Parton opens for man’s health before death

Dolly Parton reveals man’s medical condition before death

Dolly Parton’s late husband Carl Dean was “sick for quite a long time” before he died in March.

The Jolene Singer, 79, talked to The independent About how she stopped after the loss in a recent conversation.

“I really feel his presence. I am just trying to continue because I know I have to,” Parton, 79, told the publication.

“And he was sick for a while, and part of me was at peace, he was at peace and no more. But it still doesn’t compensate for the loss and loneliness of it.”

The Grammy winner also became honest about her religious beliefs that help her stay strong.

“I am a person with faith and I really think I will see him again one day.”

“And I see him every day in my memories and in my heart and in all the things we used to do and all the things we have built together,” Parton continued. “You just have to learn how to make new plans, but that’s the hardest part.”

Parton added that she invests her energy in “other things” to “keep him always present in everything I do.”

Parton and Dean met in 1964 in Nashville, where she moved to pursue a career in music.
