Miami Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey mutually accepted exploring trading opportunities on the way into the 2025 season, but it was almost two months ago.
While no agreement has been made, head coach Mike McDaniel does not seem concerned, concerned, or any other adjective about Ramsey’s situation.
“I don’t give a s — about what I feel,” he said when he asked his thoughts about the trade dilemma. “I don’t even go down that way ‘how do I feel about it?’ My job is to respond and control my controls and make sure people move properly in one direction.

McDaniel spoke during his team’s opening day for mandatory mini -amp, where Ramsey was not present as expected. He has chosen to stay away from the dolphins until his situation is resolved.
It’s a little surprising to see the 30-year-old not being treated in the last two months as he’s on the market. Ramsey is a seven-time pro bowler and three-time all-pro that continue to play at a high level in the cornerback position.

But when you look at the economic, it might make sense why the dolphins remain the team employing Ramsey.
He signed a three-year extension of $ 72.3 million only one season ago, which means teams should have a heavy CAP hit for trade for Ramsey, unless some kind of financial package can be reached in the process of Miami.
As a result, McDaniel is simply focused on the list he has present on his mini lamp. He goes into his fourth year on the job and he could be on the hot seat if Miami doesn’t turn things after an 8-9 season.
Of course, Quarterback games are a big factor in teams winning and losing, and it didn’t help Tua Tagovailoa suffered yet another concussion that had him out early in the season. McDaniel’s violation requires precise timing and accuracy, and Tagovailoa has thrives in the atmosphere when healthy.

But the dolphins couldn’t keep things fluid with him out, and when Tagovailoa returned, they were unable to run into the playoffs.
McDaniel hopes that the 2025 campaign is similar to 2023 when Dolphins went 11-6 to reach the playoffs. They play in a tough AFC East Division where New England Patriots got better in all facets, and the New York Jets has a double threat quarterback leading in Justin Fields.
And of course, Josh Allen and Buffalo Bills are still the team to beat.
So McDaniel has a lot to worry about about getting his team prepared for a hopeful playoffs, and he definitely lets it be known that he doesn’t have time for players who would be shopped.
