Saquon Barkley is the first Philadelphia Eagle to appear on the front of Madden NFL video games since former quarterback Donovan McNabb in 2005.
Unlike McNabb, Barkley is not a home -worked eagle prepared and raised by the organization. For some, Barkley is a defector as a former member of Rival New York Giants.
The giants’ decision to let Barkley leave the organization has been criticized as one of the worst mistakes in the latest history after the return led Eagles to the Super Bowl and broke the franchisle rushing record.
“They made a really big mistake and I think it will cost them a little,” McNabb told Pakinomist Digital of the Giants.

For McNabb, Giants’ decision to let Barkley may not be such a bad decision made by Eagles over a decade earlier.
McNabb, who played the entire Eagles career during the former Philadelphia head coach and current Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid, believes his previous team made a mistake of shooting Reid after the 2012 season. The Eagles traded McNabb to the rival Washington Redskins (now commanders) three years before that.
“There are a couple of mistakes they made. I became first and Andy followed,” McNabb said. “Now you lean back and you start to see and you see how [Reid’s] Career has gone to another level. “
Reid has won three Super Bowls with Chiefs and went to two more after reaching one and lost it with Eagles. Reid is also credited to the preparation and development of Chiefs Superstar -Quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
For McNabb, the “mistake” of Eagles firing Reid was greater than Giants, relaxing Barkley.
“To be honest with you, I would say that Eagles is losing Andy,” McNabb said when he asked the bigger mistake between the two.

“With Saquon, it’s new, it’s fresh. But I’m going back many years ago with the success I had with Andy, and I would say after I traveled, things were up and down. It wasn’t as consistent as it was and he was blamed for it. And you look at what Andy did now and what he might have done if he was still in Philadelphia. as they have taken. ”
Despite a successful 14-year coaching career in Philadelphia, Reid has already achieved more since the acquisition of Chiefs in 2013.
Reid led Eagles to a 273-146 (.583) record in Philadelphia with a 10-9 (.526) record in the playoffs, but never won a Super Bowl there.
For 12 years that led Chiefs, Reid has a 143-53 (.730) record with an 18-8 (.692) endgame.
Still, the Eagles Reid’s Chiefs beat in this year’s Super Bowl and revenge their 2023 Super Bowl tab for Chiefs.

And Barkley played a big role in that championship season.
“That’s why we just say, ‘Hi, we value you. And good luck to you in the future,'” McNabb said of Giants.
