- Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 accidentally went live on PS5 and causes some problems
- Patch 8 has since been rolled back and can cause problems for PS5 players
- Larian Studios says players need to perform a full re -installation of their games to solve the problem
Larian Studios has offered a quick solution to Baldur’s Gate 3 Players on PlayStation 5 who were affected by the unintended release of Patch 8.
Yesterday, the highly expected update, which does not have a launch date yet, was accidentally pushed live on the PS5 prior to the release of the Patch 8-Strees test, which seemed to confuse a lot of players.
“No, Patch 8 strings test has not yet begun,” Larian managed on social media at the time. “Yes, PS5 players currently have access to patch 8. While we are working with our partners to understand what’s going on, note that any new savings made while on patch 8 will not be compatible with patch 7. How is your Monday going? “
The update was quickly rolled back, but this may have caused some compatibility problems for those on PS5 that were affected, especially if they use mods. It can make their hidden games misplayable or destroyed.
Fortunately, Larian has shared an easy solution to hopefully get players back on the field
“Our partners have confirmed that some regions mistakenly received Patch 8 Build as an update to their Live game version, in preparation for the Patch 8 strings test,” the study said in a new blog post. “This version of Patch 8 is not supported and you may experience compatibility problems with save games and mods.
“You can return to Patch 7 play version by uninstalling and reinstalling your Baldur’s Gate 3 game.”
According to Larian, if users have version 01,800,000 or 4.1.1.6583053 in the corner of their main menu, this is the patch 8 version and is not supported. All under this number should be the right patch 7.
The blog post also notes that if you still have Patch 8 installed, then Multiplayer will be unavailable, there will be problems with MODS, and any new horses made on Patch 8 will be incompatible with the Patch 7 version of the game .
For the latter, this means that players will have to “create a new rescue or override an existing rescue while on Patch 8” as they “cannot continue to use this save if you return to Patch 7” .
Patch 8 was revealed in November 2024 and will introduce brand new features to Baldur’s Gate 3Including photo mode, cross games and 12 new subclasses.
