- Hollow Knight: Silksong Drops later today
- Xbox Game Pass-subscribers can pre-read the game using a particular method
- It requires access to the Xbox app
It’s the day players all over the world have been waiting this year: Hollow Knight: Silksong is officially set to launch at 1 p.m. 07:00 PT / 10:00 ET / 15:00 BST / 10:00 CEST.
As with any release of big games, players are eager to pre -read the title so they will be able to dive in the other, it becomes available without the need to wait for a potentially long download.
Although there is currently no easy way to do this on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox owners can get Hollow Knight: Silksong Preloaded with this little trick.
As it was discovered by a user over at Reddit, subscribers in Xbox Game Pass can be pre -read Hollow Knight: Silksong via the Xbox app.
You can preaload silksang on Xbox right now (not a silk post!) From r/silksong
All you need is your Xbox console (it is an Xbox One, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S), a mobile phone with the Xbox app installed and an active Xbox Game Pass subscription.
Just the open app, log in, if you need, then go to the Xbox Game Pass tab. Scroll down until you see the section ‘Coming to Game Pass’ and finds Hollow Knight: Silksong on the list.
Tap the icon, and then press the button to install it on your console. If you haven’t linked your Xbox console and app yet, you’ll do it at this point, follow the on-screen instructions.
With it all out of the way you can start your console up and see it Hollow Knight: Silksong Downloaded.
I have personally tested the method and can confirm that it works for me here in the UK using my Android phone, although this does not appear as a intentional step on the developer team Cherry’s part of your mileage may vary.
Also remember that this does not allow you to play the game early. You still have to wait for the official release time.
