DPM DAR, Iranian FM discusses the development in me and gaza

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed Pakistan’s support for the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state during a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Foreign Office, the two leaders discussed the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, especially the situation in Gaza. Dar repeated Pakistan’s attitude in favor of a Palestinian state based on borders before 1967 with al-QD’s al-Sharif as its capital.

The Foreign Minister also condemned proposals to displace Gaza’s population and described them as regarding. He emphasized that the Palestinian country belongs to its people and called for a decision on the conflict through the implementation of a two-state solution in line with the UN Security Council’s decisions.

In addition, Dar Pakistan’s support to convene an extraordinary meeting in the organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed foreign ministers to tackle the question.

Both officials agreed to maintain close coordination in the coming days to monitor regional development. Pakistan has consistently gone for a peaceful decision on the Palestinian issue based on international law and justice.

Earlier this week, the Foreign Office issued a strong response to US President Donald Trump’s comments on Gaza and called them unjust and unacceptable.

During the weekly media briefing, spokesman for the Foreign Office Shafqat Ali Khan Pakistan’s firm attitude towards Palestine and said its politics has remained unchanged since 1947.

“Any statement suggesting that the forced removal of Palestinians from their country is unfair. Pakistan stands firm with the Palestinian people and condemns Israel’s violation of the Gaza weapon’s agreement,” Khan said.

He called on the international community to intervene against Israel’s repeated violations and confirmed Pakistan’s consistent attitude towards Palestine since 1947.
