Dr. Mahrang Baloch, 150 others face terrorism, charges of rebellion

Quetta: Dr. Mahrang Baloch has been named among 150 individuals, including prominent leaders from the Balcoh Yakjehti Committee (BYC), facing charges that include various serious offenses such as terrorism, encouraging rebellion and murder.

A first information report (FIR), filed at the Saryab police station on Saturday, also named Beebow Baloch, Gulzadi Satakzai, Sabiha Baloch, Sabatullah Baloch, Gulzar Dost, Riaz Gashkori, Dr. Shali Baloch and others among the accused.

Fees against these persons include violations of sections 7 and 11W of anti-terrorism, as well as 16 sections of the Pakistan Penal Code.

These accusations cover terrorism, murder, murder attempts, incentive to violence and rebellion, creation of suffering, promoting racing hat and harmful property.

Mahrang, together with 17 others, was arrested and is currently being held in the Quetta District Prison in accordance with section 3 of the maintenance of the Public Order Regulation (MPO).

The case accused Mahrang and BYC management of helping rebels shoot police officers, passers -by, civilians and their protesting colleagues, resulting in deaths for three people, leaving 15 police officers wounded.

The group also faces charges of their commitment to a chaotic attack on the civil hospital and forcibly taking the bodies of attackers from Jaffer Express bombing.

FIR related to the Civil Hospital event, which was filed at Civil Lines Police Station in Quetta last week, says 100 to 150 people had stormed the medical facility and forcibly took the bodies of attackers involved in Jaffer Express attack from the hospital’s Likhus on the occasion of the BYC management.

FIR says the defendant stopped a private ambulance at Hockey Chowk, beat the driver and loaded the bodies in the ambulance.

In addition, another FIR was filed against BYC leaders Gulzadi Baloch, Ali Jan, Shoaib, Syed Noor Shah, Waheed, Jahanzeb, Zohaib Baloch and over 100 other people at the Quetta Brewery Police.

This case accuses the individuals of blocking Western Bypass Road on Saturday, sanging slogans against the state and its institutions that encourage public turmoil.

It is worth noting that protesters led by Mahrang began a sit-in by placing bodies on Saryab Road Friday night. Later, the next day, police launched a crash on the protesters and arrested Mahrang and several others.

According to police, Mahrang’s arrest has not yet been officially revealed, and she is not in custody of the Civil Line Police, but is held in district prison, possibly under section 3 or 16 MPO.

Meanwhile, closes were held, the second consecutive day was held in several cities in the province on Sunday, including Turn Cat, Hub and Dalbadin among others.

In Turbat, a protest-in has been ongoing for two days of Turnkat-Karachi Highway blocked in protest. In Hub, at Bhawani, protesters blocked Quetta-Karachi Highway in protest against Mahrang’s arrest.

However, police spread the protesters with tear gas and relay charges on Sunday morning. According to police, the highway has been reopened for traffic.

Business and trading centers remained closed in Mastung, Kalat, Kharan, Chaghi, Panjgur, Turn Cat and several other cities due to protests.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown in Dalbandin and other areas of Balochistan continued to the second consecutive day after Call of BYC. As a result, all business centers remained closed.

In addition, BYC organized a demonstration and protests with protesters demanding the immediate release of arrested leaders and action against the officers involved in alleged violence against protesters in Quetta.

A rally was also held in Dhadar, where participants demanded the immediate release of BYC leadership and sang slogans in support of missing persons before spreading peacefully.
