The driver of an oil tanker was killed, while over 40 other LED burning damage as the vehicle exploded after taking fire to Balochistan’s Noshki District on Monday, Deputy Commissioner (DC) confirmed Amjad Hussain.
26 critically wounded individuals were moved to Quetta via an air ambulance provided by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, the Deputy Commissioner added.
According to police, welding work was done on the oil -loaded truck parked at a depot in Noshki when it suddenly fired. In an attempt to prevent a major disaster, the truck driver drove the burning vehicle out of the terminal in an open field.
However, the driver bowed to his combustion damage on the spot.
Meanwhile, the oil tanker, which had become a fireball, exploded and wounded over 40 people – including a DSP and three other police personnel present there to move citizens away from the stage.
A fire bid was also damaged in the incident.
Cited reports said a spokesman for the provincial government that over 30 people sustained combustion damage in the tragic incident in Noshki.
“The intense blaze also damaged a fire vehicle,” the spokesman added. They also said that an emergency had been declared in Quetta hospitals to ease the wounded.
Calling the incident “tragic” said the spokesman that investigations were underway to determine the cause of the fire.
