- Techland has discussed how the tale is shaped in dying light: the beast
- The developer removes branching choices
- This is in an attempt to create a starting point for the future of the series
Developer Techland goes away from player -driven narrative choices for the upcoming Dying Light: The Beast. But it seems that there will be a very good reason for that, at least compared to the game’s recurring protagonist – Kyle Crane.
In an interview with GamesRadar, Dying light Franchise director Tymon Smeectała explained, “We wanted this to be a cannon in the series. We look back on what happened to Kyle Crane in the first game and we will tell the next chapter of the story.”
“One thing it Dying Light: The Beast Do is hint of the future of the series, “he adds.” We really wanted to make sure Kyle Crane at the end of the game is where we want him to Dying Light 2“
Furthermore, it is likely that Techland seeks to shape the future of Dying light franchise with what happens at the end of The beast.
While not dropping any juicy story tip, Smeectała said to Techradar Gaming: “We have decided I will say some wonder [style] Post-credit scenes that suggest some things that will happen in the future. “
Smeectała also gave further context on the decision to move away from branching distribution choices and add: “If we would have given the player agency in terms of how they will shape the story, it will be harder for us to have Kyle where we want him to be at the end of the game.
“So this is a very canonical Kyle story that answers everything that happens to him before and after the events of Dying light. “
