Electronic art has canceled cliffhanger -games’ Black Panther Play and closed the studio.
In an E email sent to the staff (as seen and reported by IGN), EA Entertainment shared, Laura Miele message and said that the decision to cancel the game and close the study was to “sharpen our focus and put our creative energy behind the most significant growth opportunities.”
The number of employees affected by the decision has not been confirmed at this time, but IGN understands that the total number of redundancies is smaller than the 300 roles that were cut last month over Respawn and several other studios.
It is also understood that EA has dismissed some individuals from its mobile and central teams.
“These decisions are difficult,” the Miele IE email wrote. “They affect people we have worked with, learned from and shared real moments with. We do everything we can to support them – including finding opportunities in EA, where we have been successful in helping people land in new roles.”

Cliffhangers Black Panther The project was announced in 2023 and was worked on by developers who previously led Shadow of Mordor series.
