‘Each Pakistani wants to defend holy cities’

Karachi:

PPP -President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday described the defense agreement with Saudi -Arabia as a positive step for Pakistan and said any Pakistani wanted to protect Makkah and Madina.

In a speech with the media after visiting the larger sewage system in Karachi, Bilawal said there was continuous coordination between provincial and federal governments. He noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had committed to Karachi who would be implemented.

The PPP chairman said that Pakistan Saudi -Arabia Defense Accord, which was signed on Wednesday, was advantageous for both countries. “The appointment obtained with Saudi Arabia is positive for Pakistan. Every Pakistani wants to defend Makkah and Madina,” he said.

When asked about the behavior of the Indian cricket team in an Asia Cup match against Pakistan last Sunday, Bilawal criticized India for drawing politics into cricket. He also said that Pakistan had recently defeated India in war.

He commented on speculation about political changes in Sindh and noted that such reports were generated by the media themselves. “You run the stories and then ask me the questions,” he told journalists.

Bilawal also referred to President Asif Ali Zardari’s recent visit to China and said the president represented the whole country and had been received hot there. He said that development issues, including Sindh’s management of solid waste, had been discussed during the visit.

On the ongoing floods, Bilawal said politics should not be played over natural disasters. “When accidents strike, appeals are made to the world. The United Nations must approach, but the federal government has not yet appealed to the UN,” he said.

He warned that flood -related health problems still arose and emphasized that the prime minister should seek international assistance. He called for victims to be supported through bisp.
