The Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Tackle Jalen Carter spoke with journalists hours after he was thrown out of the team’s first match of the season against Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.

Carter was disqualified from the game after spitting against the cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott before the first game from Scrimmage.

He told reporters he was “calm” at the moment, but did not go too much into detail about what led to spat at Prescott. The NBC broadcast showed that Prescott spit to the ground before Carter spit on him.

“I was calm,” Carter said. “I went off the field quietly. I wasn’t angry. I really couldn’t do anything else. Refen’s decision is the judge’s decision in this situation.”

He said at the time he hadn’t talked to head coach Nick Sirianni, and if a suspension came down, he would handle the situation when it happened.

He was asked what it was like to see Eagles ’24 -20 victory over cowboys.

“It was intense for me,” he said. “I wanted to be out there with the guys so bad. Just to support and help, even just standing on the sidelines, but things went how they went. We just had to move on. I promised them boys, it won’t happen again.”
