The first win of the 2025 NFL season goes to the Philadelphia Eagles, which held Dallas Cowboys, 24-20, to chop a win to start the season.
Philadelphia was in ecstasy to see Lincoln Financial Field filled with green lights as they celebrated the team’s Super Bowl Lix win over Kansas City Chiefs back in February.
After the banner was bred, it was time to get into business, and Quarterback Jalen hurt just did it. The Super Bowl MVP scored two touchdowns on the ground to lead its eagles to the promised land in week 1.

This game had almost everything happened, but it started with a disgusting action as Eagles Star Defensive End Jalen Carter was thrown out after spitting on cowboy’s quarterback Dak Prescott just six seconds into the game.
Carter turned to the cowboys’ hug after a flag was thrown on the opening kick offer, and Prescott approached him. They exchanged some words before Carter was clearly seen spit on Prescott, and Judge nearby caught it immediately and threw him out.
So Eagles were without one of his best players before even a snap was made, but this NFC East match was a back and forth offensive showcase. It started with Cowboys going down Field via the Run game, led by Javonte Williams, and Prescott found his faithful top recipient Ceedee Lamb on a 32-yard strike to enter the red zone.

The first touchdown of the year was bullied into the end zone of Williams, which would not be done in this game.
Hurts and Eagles, already down Carter, had to respond, and they made it easy on their first driving on 2025. Eagles went 10 pieces in 70 yards, where Hurts himself took it into the final zone even on the third and goal from four meters to tie the game after the extra point.
But Dallas was quick to answer, go nine plays and a long 88 meters, with Williams struggling through the line with a review to one-yard score.

However, the Eagles continued to use Hurts and Star Running Back Saquon Barkley to solidify the running, and Hurts ran one in the final zone from eight meters out to the scoring.
After a Brandon Aubrey 41-yard field goal of the next drive, the reigning Super Bowl masters were hungry after his first lead of 2025. Whoever other than Barkley, the league’s ninth ever 2,000-yard Rusher last season, making it happen by weaving through Cowboys’ defense of a 10-yard score with 51 seconds left in the first half, which did 21-17.
Cowboys would find its way down the field to allow Aubrey to seam a 53-yard field goal, just as half ended, and it was clear that these two rivals should get a stop or two to secure the victory.

That’s exactly what happened when Miles Sanders, the former Eagles who ran back, fumbled in the red zone as cowboys were driving, and the second -year cornerback Quinyon Mitchell pushed the ball up to turn the field.
But a prolonged weather delay came right after and stopped the game for almost an hour due to lightning and heavy rain in the area.
When the game was resumed, the scoring of attacks drastically slowed down as both defense began to enter the back field. But Eagles had the edge thanks to a field goal in the third quarter of Jake Elliott, who did it 24-20.
Dallas had a chance to go down the field after several stops on Eagles’ violation, but decisively falls off Lamb, which is usually as safe hand as they come in the NFL, stopped drives to cowboys.

Eagles forced a turnover-down after Lamb couldn’t pull a prescott-pass on a diving attempt, and Hurts ran for a first down on the third and short to ice play.
Looking at the Statarket, Hurts 19-of-23 went in 152 yards passing while he rushed into 63 yards on 13 rush. Barkley also added 60 yards at 18 carrier with his touchdown.
Prescott could have had more in the passing game and went in 188 yards on 21-of-34 through the air. The lamb ended with 110 yards on seven catches with 13 goals.
