Philadelphia Eagles legend Brian Westbrook heard head coach Nick Sirianni says the team wouldn’t see their Super Bowl Lix Banner ladder at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday night.

Westbrook couldn’t love that mentality anymore.

While the whole city of Philadelphia will be in ecstasy to see the franchise’s second Super Bowl -Banner over the years rise Thursday night during the NFL’s 2025 -seasonkickoff against Dallas Cowboys, this year’s Eagles team is focused on winning another Vince Lombardi trophy at the end of the new season.

Westbrook spoke with Pakinomist Digital after working with USAA as part of his recycled rides NFL -Kickoff on Wednesday, giving a new car to a deserving military service member where he discussed Eagles’ mentality on his way into 2025.

“The one thing I love about this team this season was their approach,” he explained. “This season wasn’t about making a victory meat around Philadelphia and the United States and said they’re about the best team in football, they beat the reigning champs, and they did it, that and the other. It wasn’t about it. It was about focusing again. again. ‘ Yes we won.

“That’s what this season was about for this football team.”

Westbrook added that in these conversations with Eagles players he only heard about training out of season and looks forward to 2025 instead of reminiscent of the Super Bowl.

A large part of the eyes of Westbrook has been the leadership of Jalen Hurts, the team’s franchise quarterback.

“Chip on his shoulder,” Westbrook said of Hurts, who goes into his sixth year in an Eagles uniform. “People still doubt him. Super Bowl MVP, and people still doubt him. So Jalen goes around with a little chip on the shoulder and I appreciate it because I played with it too. His ability to lead this team will say a lot and I think he is an amazing leader.”

Of course, you can’t talk about 2024 Eagles without mentioning their biggest free agent pickup, running back Saquon Barkley, who continued to lead the NFL in rushing yards and scrimmage yards during his debut season in Philadelphia.

Westbrook, after playing Barkley’s position while he was a member of the Eagles, knows how important he is for the team’s success now and in the future. But his favorite things about Barkley are his selfless nature, where winning regardless of his role has a precedent.

“Saquon is one of the best teammates you might have,” Westbrook said. “He understands and believes that ‘If we need to throw the ball 50 times a game, I am willing to block 50 times. If we need to run the ball, I will run the ball 50 times.’ So he is selfless that way.

Chiefs would have cemented their place as an NFL dynasty if they came victorious in New Orleans earlier this year. After all, no team in the league story has ever won three just super bowls.

But when you look at this Eagles team and how GM Howie Roseman has designed this bunch to have a great championship window in the coming years, this may be the team where the word “dynasty” comes back.

“I don’t think you can throw the word dynasty around yet,” Westbrook replied when he was asked that much question. “I think you have to win a few more in a row to do that. I mean, [2017] Was huge, but it was also huge to come back last year. Before you can have a dynasty, win a few of them. But talented, they have the ability to do it. They have the ability to go back-to-back and have the ability to win a terrible mass of games this year. As a fan, I hate to throw the dynasty around until it actually happens.

“So I don’t want to use it, but I certainly can see why people say this team has the potential to be a dynasty.”

Surprisingly those who serve us

Westbrook was just outside where the Eagles will play Thursday night as he helped Usaa, the official “Honor of Service” partner of NFL, gift a vehicle to Airman First Class Keskel Yatrofsky, who is currently serving in the US Air Force in the 2nd air-filled Skvadron-based out of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurt.

Yatrofsky received a Toyota Camry in 2023, which was repaired and donated by the National Auto Body Council Recycled Ride, which focuses on giving reliable transport to the distressed.

“Moments like this go down as some of the most special times of my life,” he said. “I think of my children and what we teach them about gratitude gives back, about doing things for others who do their day.

“Today, Keskel and his face look of excitement over receiving a car that means so much.”
