It is officially nominated for Philadelphia Eagles’ visit to the White House with President Donald Trump to celebrate their Super Bowl -win last month.
The White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced on Tuesday that the team will visit April 28.
Leavitt also took a jab in reports on whether an invitation would be sent after what happened in 2018.
Like the 45th president of the United States at that time, Trump abolished his invitation to Eagles after their Super Bowl victory over the Patriots after some players said they would not attend.

This time, Trump acknowledged that he would get Eagles to the nation’s capital to celebrate, and that’s exactly what will happen.
“I know there was a lot of fake news about an invitation that was not sent or sent. We will correct the record: We sent an invitation. They accepted enthusiastically and you will see them here on April 28,” Leavitt said during her daily briefing in the White House on Tuesday.

Trump was present at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans 9 February to see Eagles dominate Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22. He also noticed last month that he wanted Eagles to visit the White House.
“We haven’t yet, but we’ll be,” Trump said of sending an invitation. “I thought it was an amazing notion of them. Absolutely, they will be expanded an invitation. We do it right away. We do it for some time today. They deserve to be down here and we hope to see them.”

Eagles Captain Lane Johnson said a visit to the White House would be a “team decision” after they won the Super Bowl.
Johnson, who spent all 12 of his NFL seasons with the franchise, was on the team when it won the organization’s first Vince Lombardi Trophy ever in 2018 and defeated New England Patriots.
However, controversy followed the year when Trump abolished his invitation to Eagles after some players said they would not visit the White House because of the 45th president’s criticism of those who kneeled or raised their fist during the National song to protest against racial injustice and police brutality.
At that time, Trump released a statement to cancel his invitation and said that “the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserve better.”

“They disagree with their president because he insists that they proudly stand for national Anthem, hand on the heart, in honor of the great men and women in our military and the people of our country,” Trump’s statement said seven years ago.
