The best Raspberry Pi -Distros have long been a favorite of hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts, but for $ 120 for the latest Raspberry Pi 5 16GB model is not necessarily the value of value it once was.
But for just a little more, you can buy a full-fledged AMD Ryzen-driven mini-PC that delivers formidable performance without breaking the bank.
I have found three Mini -PCs on Amazon under $ 180, it can be a little bigger but also give you more for your money.
Beelink GTR5 is priced under $ 180 (although temporary is in stock at the time of the press, it’s worth a wish list), Genmachine Mini PC costs $ 178.99 (with 5% discount at the time of writing), and Bosgame E2 Mini PC is listed of $ 239.99, but a $ 60 coupon brings it down to $ 179.99.
These are not weak machines with low power. They are all powered by AMD Ryzen 5 3550H, a 4-core, 8-thread processor with a 3.7 GHz Max Turbo watch, making them far better than Intel Entry-Level N-Serie Chips.
The Beelink GTR5 includes a 500 GB SATA SSD, while Genmachine and Bosgame E2 come with NVME SSDs in the range of 500 GB storage, offering compromised data transfer speeds.
All of these products are sent with 16 GB DDR4 RAM and fast SATA SSD storage with an M.2 NVME extension castle for further storage.
For bells and whistles, GTR5S RADEON VEGA 8 GPU handle is 4K video playback and Multi-Monitor Support Standard thanks to HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C output. The GTR5 also goes a step further with a fingerprint reader for secure login and a double-fan cooling system to keep temperatures in check.
Bosgame E2 and Genmachine meanwhile focuses on computing no-frills that come with a Radeon 770m or simply integrated graphics. These could leave you who want more, but if you are after a compact, skilled workstation on a budget comparable to the most expensive PI 5, I don’t think you will do much better.
