Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday paid tribute to the entire economic team, especially Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, for their hard work and dedication to prepare the federal budget for the financial year 2025-26.
He also expressed gratitude for the federal cabinet and the Allied political parties for their support to end the budget.
The Prime Minister was chairman of the cabinet meeting and also talked about the recent regional development and welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran and led to an important step in avoiding further escalation and loss. He thanked God for the peaceful decision and recognized the important role that different countries have played, including Saudi -Arabia, to secure the ceasefire.
He said Iran openly thanked the people of Pakistan, its political parties, military and political leadership for their role in securing a ceasefire between the two countries.
“The Iranian leadership specifically appointed the president of Pakistan – Self and Field Marshal – for their contribution to the ceasefire,” the prime minister said.
As for Iran attacks on Qatar, the Prime Minister said Pakistan had also issued a condemnation declaration in which he repeated Pakistan’s strong bond with the fraternal nation.
With regard to Muharram Ul Haram, Shehbaz Sharif instructed the affected authorities to ensure strict law and order during processions and Majalis across the country. He also instructed the Minister of the Interior to coordinate with provincial governments, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir to maintain peace and security during the month.
