The Election Commission in Pakistan (ECP) has accepted PPP’s election in the intraparty and issued its review as well as a certificate.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was re-elected as PPP chairman for a four-year period in voting within the party, held at the central secretariat in the federal capital on April 12. Humayun Khan was elected Party Secretary General for four years, while Nadeem Afzal Chan as information secretary for the same period.

Similarly, AMNA Piracha was elected financial secretary. Office-Bearers of PPP was elected in accordance with the party’s constitution.

According to a report published in the Express Pakinomist, several senior party leaders remained completely unaware of the election. Those who realized said they had learned about it through social media.

None of the leaders could say who the candidates were or whether the winners had been subjected to any resistance or were elected without being received. Almost everyone expressed disappointment at not even being informed about the election date.

Nadeem Afzal Chan, who himself was among the winners, told The Express Pakinomist that he had submitted his nomination papers. When asked how he found out about the election results, he admitted that he was not fully aware of it.

ECP in December 2023 declared PTI’s election in the intra party invalid. The Supreme Court maintained the decision, which resulted in depriving the electoral symbol.
