Peshwar:
The Election Commission in Pakistan (ECP) officially informed on Thursday of the election of mishaps Yousafzai Former special assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to the Senate of a woman’s reserved seat from KP.
According to the ECP, Yousafzai earns in the House of House until March 11, 2027 after the resignation of Sania Nishtar. The message has also been forwarded to the Senate Secretariat.
Yousafzai is expected to take her oath as a senator during the upcoming Senate session. Political observers say her entry into the upper house could add a fresh voice from KP with expectations that she will focus on development, women’s empowerment and education in the province.
The election was held to fill the seat vacated by the resignation of Ptis Dr. Sania Nishtar. In the vote held at the KP Assembly, Yousafzai got 86 votes, while the opposition’s joint candidate Mehtab Zafar received 53 votes.
