Ed Gein’ star Charlie Hunnam shares a habit he learned the hard way

Charlie Hunnam serves up surprising reaction after ‘Monster’ success

Charlie Hunnam earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Monster: The Ed Gein Storybut he was ignorant of its reception.

The 45-year-old actor has developed a peculiar habit of avoiding seeing any reviews about his projects, which is why he can avoid the negativity but also miss out on the hype.

The Sons of Anarchy star shared that he had to develop a habit of muting the noise due to a cruel incident where he was subjected to too many negative reviews of his film, Green Street Hooligans.

“I don’t read any of that. Not for years. I learned that trick early in my career. I’ve been doing this for 27 years,” Hunnam shared Get access to Hollywood.

He shared that despite the film being well-received by fans, critics were not “kind” to him after the 2005 film, and he decided he “didn’t have to go through this again.”

Despite the detachment from reviews, Hunnam is now aware of the recognition for his Ed Gein role and will be honored among other talented actors at the awards ceremony on Sunday, January 11.
