Karachi:
As the month of Ramazan ends, the shopping landscape is set on fire with a kaleidoscope of colors, sounds and sensations as the city reads itself for the greatness of Eidul Fitr. Citizens can be seen shopping until late at night, while shop owners introduce new varieties to attract customers.
Unlike last year, women are prioritizing Readymade -Dresses this Eid. A wide range of festive collection is available on different brands, with many people welcoming the newly arrived and tense up their favorite pieces. Others, however, mumble about the hefty price tags as citizens also complain about inflation.
According to a study conducted by Express Pakinomist, women prefer colorful, attractive prints and uniquely designed clothing for Eid. The demand for these clothing has increased manifold compared to last year, and store owners have raised their prices accordingly. Ashraf, a shop owner in a shopping center near Teen Talwar, said women buy short Kurtier and loose-passing Shalwar pants. Prices have doubled compared to last year. However, due to the heat, most people buy cotton and lawn clothing.
Influencer Nida Wajid said while shopping at the Gulf Market that the trend of loose-passing Shalwar pants, also known as ‘Farshi Shalwar’, has taken social media by storm. This fashion is from the 1970s. Our grandmothers used to wear this traditional Asian clothing. Ten years later, by 2025, the popularity of Farshi Shalwar has broken all previous items. “This year, Short Kurtis with Farshi Shalwar will be the national uniform. I bought one, made of silk fabric to make it look more beautiful,” Nida said.
A tailor in the mall said the bottom of Farshi Shalwar is usually 11 to 13 inches wide. It is wider and longer than ordinary pants and even touches the soil, which is why it is called Farshi (meaning floor-sweeping). He said that Farshi Shalwar not only suits tall women, but women of all heights and body types can carry it.
However, a famous designer has claimed that Shalwar fits only higher women. He said, “It looks good with both short and long Kurtier. This traditional and royal attire can be made from various fabrics such as Jamawar, Banarsi Silk, Raw Silk, Khadi Silk, Chiffon, Organza, Georgette and Velvet, which are suitable for various seasons and apartments. Great choice for curvy women.
The old tradition makes a comeback in the fashion world thanks to the influence and celebrities that have popularized the Farshi Shalwar trend. As a result, many young women choose to wear the trending Shalwar on Eidul Fitr. According to store owners, its demand is Skyrocket, resulting in a large number of orders for them. This unexpected popularity has faced a new challenge. Currently, the craftsmen are working day and night, and it is not possible for the stores to take more orders before Eid.
A working woman told The Express Pakinomist that it is convenient to buy ready -made clothes. A few days before Eid, new designs are available and you can find clothes that fit your taste. The advantage of slightly embroidered clothing is that they can also be worn to workplaces. In addition, the quality of ready -made clothing is consistently as opposed to tailor -made clothing, which may not always meet expectations.
In different parts of Karachi, replicas of branded clothing are available at affordable prices that attract a large crowd of women. In a speech in this regard, a college student Saba said that ready -made clothing saves time. If a tailor destroys a suit, there is no other option. For Eid, a ready -made suit can be purchased for RS3,000, while buying fabric and getting it sewn would cost over RS5,000, including embroidery and other accessories. In addition, there are replicas of famous designer clothing in different parts of the city that offer affordable alternatives to fashion -conscious women. However, the quality of replicas can be compromised.
Women choose embroidered clothing while young girls follow the latest trends and styles. Young girls embrace bold and trendy styles to make a fashion declaration on Eid.
