Legally Blonde is an iconic early ’00S movie that made us think it could really be so easy to get into Harvard after being crowned Sorority Queen, have best friends and all while pursuing our dreams.
I mean, I don’t think I’ve ever stopped trying to master “the bend and snap!” And now, Elle The Prequel Spinoff TV show is on the road-arranger for Prime Video, one of the best streaming services, in mid-2026.
Sure that there has been Legally Blonde 2 and Legally blondesBut nothing has been as iconic as the first movie – no doubt not even close. Although it may be changing.
Elle Seeing a young Elle Woods in her high school and giving an insight into her past life. And it has and ELLE magic behind it with Reese Witherspoon, who acts as a performing producer together with his own production company, Hello Sunshine.

ELLE: Is there a release date?
There is no specific Elle Release date right yet, but there is a release window and it is sometime in mid-2026.
While Prime Video announced plans to produce a Legally Blonde The Prequel series last year followed it up on 12 May during the pre -presentation that Elle would fall on the streamer next “summer”. This probably refers to the Northern Hemisphere Summer, and it will also be sometime from June to August.
And from April, Reese Washerspoon took to Instagram to announce: “Harvard was tough. High School was harder. Our new series, Elleis in production now! “
I will be sure to update here when we get a more specific date to write on our calendar with our pink fluffy pen.
ELLE: Has a trailer been released?
With filming of Elle Only in April started there is no official trailer to share. As is the case with most prime video shows, it is most likely to fall in the months approaching the show’s release. Then came back here in the first half of 2026.
ELLE: Confirmed role crew
There has been very of messages to Elle Role crew, but none as big as Reese that finds her or Woods. Here’s who we have so far been confirmed to have the lead role in Legally Blonde Prequel:

Like a prequel series, it seems pretty unlikely that any of the original Legally Blonde Cast -Castet movie returns. Although I would love To see Jennifer Coolidge’s Paulette again.
Instead, casting has been focused on finding the younger version of Reese witherspoon’s ELLE, of which there was an abundance of audition tape. Lexi Minetree (Law & Order: Svu, Murdugh -Mords) Got the titular role, and as seen in Instagram post above, they are creepy alike!

As Prequel Spinoff TV -Show to Legally BlondeAt Elle He reportedly goes back in time to Elle Woods’ high school and documents her younger life before Harvard Law School.
According to the Official Logline series, it follows “Elle Woods in high school when we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we got to know and love in the first one”Legally Blonde film.”
In a speech with Variety, Reese revealed: “Fans will learn how to know how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinct personality and ingenuity, in ways that only our loved one could do.”
And as Vernon Sanders, head of TV at Amazon MGM Studios, calls it, viewers are treated to ELLE’s “Origin Story”.
In real ELLE WODS ‘MODE, Reese has been excited vocal and incredibly exuberant over the arrival of the show – going to Instagram to share her joy.
And in a clip that Legally Blonde Fans will recognize as a tribute to the opening credits of the original movie, Reese can be seen, getting ready in Lysosa with a top secret (and also pink) script.
The caption reads: “Before she became the most famous Gemini vegetarian who went out of Harvard Law, she was just an ordinary high school girl from the 90s. And all of you get to know her next year on Prime Video. I’m so excited!”
Will there be more seasons of ELLE?
Considering Elle Season 1 does not reach first -class video until mid -2026, there is no news yet about a possible renewal.
As is the case with many new shows for streamers, it will probably trust how well it works when it hits the platform.
Although with the persuasive forces and adorable charm by Elle Woods behind it, I feel pretty sure that Legally Blonde Fans and anyone new to the character will be eager for more.
