Ellen DeGeneres has spoken in support of colleague comedian Rosie O’Donnell after a controversial remark from US President Donald Trump.
DeGeneres shared a post on Sunday with a screenshot of Trump’s recent statement along with O’Donnell’s ball. “Good for you, @rosie,” the Ellen wrote in a show about solidarity.
The feud reinstated after Trump claimed he was considering recalling O’Donnell’s US citizenship and called her “a threat to humanity.”
“Due to the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in our great country’s best interest, I take serious consideration to remove her citizenship. She is a threat to humanity and should remain in the wonderful country Ireland if they want her. God bless America!” Read Trump’s statement.
Although Trump cannot legally get her citizenship revoked due to protection during the 14th amendment, O’Donnell dared to continue.
“Hello Donald, you rattled again? 18 years later, and I’m still living rental in the collapsing brain of you. You call me a threat to humanity-but I’m all you fear,” O’Donnell began in his Instagram post.
“You will revoke my citizenship? Go ahead and try, King Joffrey with a Mandarin Spray Brown. I’m not yours for silence. I was never,” she added.
In a follow-up post, O’Donnell elaborated his decision to move to Ireland earlier this year with her 12-year-old child, Clay, citing her decision coming in response to the current administration’s policies.
“The president of the United States has always hated the fact that I see him for who he is – a criminal man who is sexual abuse of liar to hurt our nation to serve himself,” the TV personality wrote.
“That’s why I moved to Ireland,” she continued. “He is a dangerous old soulful man with dementia who lacks empathy compassion and basic humanity – I stand in direct resistance [to] Everything he represents – so do millions of others. You will deport anyone who is facing your evil trends – [you’re] A bad joke that cannot form a coherent phrase #nevertrump. “
O’Donnell has long been critical of Trump and his administration’s policy, but the position came in the midst of public screams about Jeffery Epstein’s death – which was indicted for several offenses relating to the sex trade of minors – claims the Trump administration had been abused by the investigation.
